I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of settings. My work is grounded in the belief that all behavior has meaning and gaining insight is the path to lasting change. Symptoms such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and impulsiveness are psyche’s way of communicating what cannot yet be said in words.
Psychodynamic work takes place collaboratively between the therapist and the patient. This relationship becomes the catalyst for emotional growth. My office is a safe space where any topic or idea can be shared without judgement. I am interested in helping you establish a life that is fulfilling and meaningful. This work develops the ability to sit with painful and uncomfortable emotions. Once you can sit with these emotions you can then learn to embrace them without having to hold onto troublesome symptoms such as panic.
I am interested in working with anyone who is seeking solace from physical and mental ailments. I also specialize in working with couples and individuals with co-occurring disorders. Addiction is another symptom that has tremendous meaning not only for the individual but the family as well. I have done extensive work around anxiety and emotional instability caused by tapering off opiate maintenance. Addiction effects the entire family system and psychotherapy is beneficial in exposing unconscious patterns that may contribute to chronic relapse.
