Frequently Asked Questions
How much does therapy cost and do you take insurance?
My hourly fee is 150.00 and I do offer a sliding scale for individuals with financial hardship. I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Vermont Medicaid. I hold places on my caseload for individuals needing a discounted fee.
What happens during a therapy session?
You are free to say whatever comes to mind and we will work collaboratively to make sense of your experiences, pain, and alleviate symptoms through insight.
I have insurance but you are not in network.
Some insurance plans have out of network benefits that you can attempt to send a claim in for reimbursement. You will have to check with your plan to see if this is even an option. Not all plans offer out of network benefits.
Do you use telehealth for long-distance sessions?
I have access to telehealth, which allows me to provide therapeutic services over video conferencing. You must be residing in Vermont to be eligible for this option.
How often will we meet?
Well, that depends on you and your individual needs. I do not do bi-weekly appointments so at a minimum we will meet once a week for an hour.
How long does treatment last?
I am unable to answer this question because it depends on so many factors. It is best to come into this with no set expectation for length of treatment. It is common for precipitating symptoms to improve only to find that what is really at the core of illness lays just underneath. Some individuals may decide to stop treatment once their panic attacks have improved. Other patients may choose to stay in treatment to understand how and why they started to help prevent them from returning in the future.
What about medications?
I am happy to refer you to a psychiatrist. I find it helpful and meaningful to collaborate with other professionals and will always make time to do so.
How much is supervision?
My hourly fee is 150.00 for supervision. I do offer a discount for students ($100.00) and charge 150.00 for as needed consultation.
How to I enroll in one of your groups? How much does it cost?
My groups are not available to patients who are currently in treatment with me. They are open to any individual that is currently under the care of a clinician, who can make the referral to me. If you have Vermont Medicaid then your insurance will cover the cost in full. I do offer a sliding scale for individuals needing to private pay. My normal group fee is 100.00.
